Changing History

A historical event I would change is the creation of resedential schools. These bording school served a purpose of assimilating first nations children, taking them away from there family's and communitys. The prisons these chlidren served in dramaticly impacted gererations of life, and still contuinues to today. If they had not been created  it in the first place, my people would be strong, independent and as culturly rich as before settlers came to Canada. This nation would be different and much more happier, self sufficient and respectful of the enviorment. The things the children went through in these school is indescribable, imagine being taken away from your parents and not being able to speak your language or pracitice your traditions. The emptiness it left behind in the familys effected the community greatly, mothers torn away from their children caused addictions to take over. Parents live for their children, and to have your flesh and blood ripped out of your arms encouaged disfunction that carries on for generations. Without this hardship the first nations people and communitys would be greatly improved. The creation of residential school was a huge mistake Canada made, and I would change it in a second.
